About Pench National Park :-

Pench National park , nestling in the lower southern reaches of the satpuda hills is named after Pench river, meandering through the park from north to south. It is located on the southern boundary of Madhya Pradesh, bordering Maharashtra, in the districts of Seoni and Chhindwara.

The reserve is situated in an area that holds a significant place in the natural history of the Central India. The description of its natural beauty, richness if flora and fauna has appeared in numerous wildlife books dating back to 17th century. Books written in the 19th and early 20th century by famous naturalists like Captain J. Forsyth and Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book explicity present the detailed panorama of nature's abundance in this tract.

The fauna of the park comprises of wild dog, the wild pig, nilgai, chital, muntjac, gaur, the four-horned antelope and of course tigers. The tiger population in pench is one of the hightest - 55, The birds seen here are more than 200 species like barbets, bulbuls, minivets, orioles, wagtails, munias, mynas, waterfowls, and blue kingfishers.

Bagh Van Lodge : Just 05 minute walk from the entrance of Reserve. The charm of the old forest rest houses has been blended with modern conveniences in comfortable cottages which have independant with bedroom, bathroom and verandah.

Wildlife Attractions in Pench National Park:-

Tiger (Panthera tigris tigris), the king of the jungle, roams freely in this secure, though a bit small habitat along with his fellow beings - leopard (Panthera pardus), wild dog (Cuon alpinus), wolf (Canis lupus), hyaena (Hyaena hyaena), caracal (Felus caracal) and other smaller cats. Sloth bear has his most favourite home in the rock escarpments and undisturbed vales. The wooded areas are dotted with sambar, the largest of Indian deers, chital and chowsingha. One can easily see nilgai and chinkara in most open areas in the grasslands, specially on the periphery.

How to Reach Pench National Park:-
By Air:- Airport - Sonegaon Airport, Nagpur (92 kms. from the Park)
Nagpur is the nearest airport connected to Delhi & Mumbai and other places by regular flights. Jabalpur (192 kms.) also serves as a convenient airhead with regular flights from Delhi.
